Name that leader

Sat May 9, 2009, 1:12 PM
The nation was in shambles. A previous ruler had led the country into an expensive war, the economy was failing, and a sense of depression and discontent filled the air. Then, a new leader emerged. He was a powerful speaker, offering hope, change, and a fix to the economy. He was a person who could grab people's attention with his driven, controlling personality and considered past actions of the government horrible and ignorant. He wrote two books about his experiences and used his literary work to propel him to success. He was an open christian with some muslim friends. He called for unity and considered himself an advocate of peace. Some of his political opponents cast him as naive and inexperienced. He also had a lot of radical ties, but the media, and ultimately the public, were willing to overlook that. Backed by thousands of citizens, he won leadership of the country and put in place laws to throw those who happen to disagree with his style behind bars for betraying their country. With a direct action approach in combating problems, he gave the people a sense of hope and change that could lead to success in solving problems the country faced. When he began to seize power, he had events occur that he used to help aid him in power. These acts instilled fear into the people, and his response he declared many who were supposedly "to blame" for the country's problems as "terrorists." Given the power of stopping many freedoms that the citizens once possessed for his "ultimate good" (including invasion of privacy, freedom of speech, press, etc.), he was able to prevent these "acts of terrorism" while in reality just gain more power against any whom held different views.

(majority of this adapted from [link] )

Nobody was able to stand up against this. Being imprisoned struck fear into the majority of the nation, although many had valid claims against the leader and his history. Many who questioned the leadership, his methods, and his overwhelming power he had obtained were silenced and therefor the truth laid in the heads of those who actually took time to look into matters rather than acting on impulse and going along with the crowd, insisting that "change" would be something good.

If you haven't guessed by now, I'm talking about two people, Obama and Hitler. Both men relied on a state of disorientation of the public to quickly gain power over the entire nation, use cunning speech and emotionally charged goals to sweep all the power of the nation and it's people. It's been just slightly under four months, and we're already well on our way to violating or removing 3 amendments to the constitution (1,2,22) in just 3 months of the Obama regime. Bumper stickers now resulting in being thrown into jail. Ratifying the 2nd amendment would result in taking away freedom of the law abiding citizens in order to keep firearms out of the hands of criminals, who show no regard for laws anyway. Add in this new "need" for GPS in every home? Where does this madness end?

If the constitutional issues weren't enough, since we're in such national economic trouble, why don't we more than double the national debt in less than 1/3 of ONE year, but let's remove limits on how long a president/king can rule (22nd amendment) so that we can try to get to the point where we have to make a new number up to describe national debt. (see [link] to observe just how enormous the debt will be over the next decade, then imagine how much more he could do if he was allowed to serve until he dies).

It's just incredible to me how uneducated and unconcerned the public is. While yes, we do need change, we chose the incorrect path to travel. We don't even know who this president really is because he'll spend almost $1,000,000 to hide his true identity, yet he's our ELECTED leader.

All of these ideologies are just factual. Imagine if some of the rather radical views are true, like swine flu being instituted from a lab (which it only has a 5% chance of coming about naturally in the first place) in order to make the public feel a sense of fright and helplessness, turning to the government, willing to give them anything to be "saved" from a flu strand that hasn't even mutated to anything dangerous. (the common flu has a 20-40% death rate while at the last time I checked H1N1 influenza has killed only .008% of people in the United States). Many believe this to be some sort of plan for world domination, and while I consider this belief rather absurd, there are just so many "what if's" these days that it's hard to know anything for sure.

While I'm rather new for posting journals on this site, I'm hoping that I'm not shut down, I really enjoy artwork, it's just matters like these seem to dumbfound me when I see so many people "supporting" Obama after these first few months, still just believing that "change" without any basis typically. While his support polls have been dropping here recently, I still don't think that they'd be as high as they are if more people looked into matters rather than just agreeing with the majority. We're a nation run by the majority, but that doesn't mean we have to just mindlessly go along with what someone else believes.

I encourage everyone to disprove any of my claims. I want someone to prove me wrong, because I surely would like to think our country has a more positive outlook than this. I came here not to slander someone for unjust reasons or to make a mockery of anyone who supports Obama, I came here for the sole purpose to enlighten those on matters that may not be portrayed on the nightly news.

(while reading back over my additions to the article and the pop quiz itself in the first portion of this journal, I realize and admit that a comparison between the two men is quite far-fetched and the same connection can be made between Hitler and many other men throughout history. The additions I added simply enhanced the radical view that the author of the original question could have used to make his extremist perception even stronger. I believe many of the qualities Hitler possessed actually were good for a leader to have, however, his motives were far from being anything acceptable. I do not believe that Obama will end up turning our country into anything close to Nazi Germany, this portion was solely mentioned because I found it ironic (not causal) that these similarities existed. I am in no way a white supremacist, a Nazi, a radical republican or anything outlandish. I simply am an inquisitive mind with a strong enough feeling towards informing others who care to look through my compilations of my knowledge and use of the internet to indulge in informative and intellectual conversation of the matter. If this offends anyone, I'm sorry, I'm just an average guy writing an average blog about what has been brought to my attention lately and I found this article to be a good intro to capture attention and get people thinking. I WANT people to provide counter examples, disproof of points I've found, and other opinions. It's highly encouraged and is one of the main purposes of this entire article.)
